Hi I'm Garth

I grew up in the United States. I have lived in or been stationed in 17 States and 4 countries.

About Me

My name is Garth and I am 64 years old. I have been a member of the CHurch of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints all my life. When I was younger my family moved around while my father went to college, and then worked as a Social Worker in 2 different states. I was born in Provo Utah, and spend my pre-teen years in the State of Washington. We lived in White Center Seattle, and Shelton Washington. When I was about 13 we moved to Fresno California, and then Visalia. I served a mission for the church in Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri. I served in the United States Amry from 1972 to 1975 as a communication specialist for the Army Security Agengy. I was married shortly after my honorable release from the Army and have been married for 40 years. My wife had 4 premature babies and 3 lived. I have a Master's degree from the University of San Francisco, and worked for a cereal company in California for 30 years. I am currently a substitute teacher in the Lodi Unified School District, mainly teaching High School classes. I love to visit my children and grandchildren.. I am active in my church and enjoy being close to my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I started out a Mormon because my parents were Mormons, but over the years I have found it is a religion that answers my questions, gives me purpose, and hope in my Savior.

How I live my faith

I believe the Savior taught us that service is one way to show our love for Him. I have served in organizations in our community life the Salvation Army board, the Boys Scouts of America. When I was younger I played city soft ball, and even participated on a summer bowling league. I let people know I am a Mormon, and we are people with families and like to have good clean fun.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

I am eternally grateful to my Savior Jesus Christ. I know that the only way I can return to live with my Father in Heaven is through the Grace of my Savior. I also know that because of his Grace I will see a son that died again. His Atonement makes all things possible. Show more Show less
