Hi I'm Jim

I was a non-Christian until I joined the Church at 27. Still going strong after more than 20 years.

About Me

I'm over product management at a software company. We make systems for the automotive industry. I've got 5 kids. My youngest girl was born in 2005 and she is from Chifeng, Inner Mongolia where we went to adopt her. I have three teenagers. I love Scouts and outdoor activities like camping, fishing, hiking, climbing, etc. My focus lately has been learning more to trust in the Lord and always say, "Thy will be done." I live in a wonderful neighborhood in Highland, Utah. I'm very grateful for what the Lord has given me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Church is true. I know that angels visited Joseph Smith, that he translated the Book of Mormon, and that the priesthood of Jesus Christ has been restored, as promised. I have daily communion with the Holy Ghost and with the system of witnesses of the divinity of Jesus Christ, I cannot but follow Him. The Lord has saved me in every way conceivable. I understand His atonement and know that He is the only hope I have of ever being forgiven for the things I have sinned against God.

How I live my faith

Having been a bishop I've had plenty of opportunities to live my faith. But though I work and serve long hours in and out of the Church, the way I live my faith the most is by daily prayer and scripture study. I read the scriptures and pray every day. And most days, I listen to a Conference talk or two or some other audio that brings in the Spirit. I spend quiet time to ponder each day so that the Spirit can speak to me. I receive revelation from the Holy Ghost and I am guided in all matters by Him. I am drawn to the Spirit and when I do not have it with me, I know and work to get it back.
