Hi I'm Jonathan.

I'm a Gamer, an Eagle Scout, and a Graphic Designer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I started off in this world as a child "born under the covenant." Simply, I fall into the category of mormons who grow up in the church from day one. I didn't stand a chance to be unhappy in a very blessed family. Loving parents, toys, friends, tons of cousins to play with on the weekends and all my needs and wants met are the conditions of my childhood. So! I grew up with many non-Mormon friends. I was always the minority. It was very seldom that there ever was anyone who shared my faith in the same classes with me at school or other activities. BUT! I think the condition of being a little bit different, while relying on my parents as the source of strength, was key in my own personal questioning of the church see "Why I am a Mormon". I have an Associate's Degree of Science in Graphic Design. I absolutely love to create. I started creating posters for the acting classes in my high school and what started as a hobby developed into a skill which in due time is what I studied in college. I am an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. Going through that process was the most difficult thing for me at that time in my life. After earning the Eagle Scout Award I went to a University for about one year and then, after turning the age of 19, left to serve a mission. I am a Return Missionary. Going through that process was the most difficult, rewarding, depressing and amazing time of my life... so far. I love to share the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of what I feel and what I understand. While growing up after my baptism, I hit challenges that tested the standards I committed to at baptism. It is the constant cycle of exercising faith, hard work, and facing trials that strengthen my reasons to keep the commandments. When I do everything to show faith in Jesus Christ, keep busy and do worthwhile activities, and overcome trials, my confidence in my covenants grows. When I come short on any of those three things repentance, the resolve to change and align oneself with Heavenly Father's commandments, will again strengthen me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being consistent. When I'm at school, working for someone, with old friends, new friends and acquaintances I work to be a representative of my family and the church. I teach the class on Sundays during Sunday School called Gospel Principles. There I have the opportunity to teach the doctrines of the church to visitors and new converts. It is like being a missionary all over again!

Are Mormons Christians?

There are two uses to the word "Christian." The first is in reference those believe in and worship Jesus Christ as the Savior for all mankind. Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are VERY christian, according to this use of the word. The second use of the word "Christian" refers more to the body of denominations that are not the same but ban together and label themselves as Christian churches because they have similar beliefs, but agree to disagree on other points or interpretations of doctrine. This second use of the word "Christian" is a misnomer when some people say "Mormons" are not "Christian" because "Mormons" don't believe in the "Trinity" or interpret the Bible the same way or because our canon of scripture is open to anything given through revelation by the latter-day prophets. So are Mormons Christian? YES - We worship Jesus Christ the Savior and Redeemer, the Messiah, the Great Jehova and it is towards him only that we look for a remission of our sins. Show more Show less
