Hi I'm Mandi

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of two and enjoy taking care of my children and being a wife. I am currently in school but am taking a break while my husband juggles full time work and school. I enjoy the outdoors, music, going to a good movie, writing, and spending time with my family. I love children's books, and hope to one day have one of my own children's stories published.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church all my life. Even though I was born into the church I have a testimony of the Gospel and it's teachings regardless of anyone else. I have learned for myself and gained a witness through the Holy Ghost of the reality of our Savior Jesus Christ and his teachings. Even when we do what is right and keep all the commandments, there are still trials and difficult things we each have to face in this life. My testimony and knowledge of the gospel gives me the strength to face those difficult things and find joy in all the blessings our Father in Heaven bestows on us each day.

How I live my faith

My husband and I were recently asked to teach the youth in Sunday School. I am excited to get to know them and hopefully help them at such a young age, and I'm sure they will teach me more than just a thing or two. I have also enjoyed teaching in other areas of the church. I love to prepare and learn so much from those I am asked to teach. My greatest joy in life is taking care of my family, and striving to teach my own children about the Gospel.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Mandi
Temples are used to perform saving ordinaces for the dead, such as baptisms endowments, and the sealing marriage ceremony. The ceremonies are also performed by a living person for themselves. We believe that through the Temple sealing we can be with our families forever. Even death cannot seperate us. The Temple is a place of worship and learning where those who hold a Temple recommend can go and perform the ordinances and also feel peace and draw closer to our Heavenly Father. Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Mandi
We do not worship Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith saw and talked with God and his son Jesus Christ. They instructed him to restore the true church once again on the earth, which he did through much sacrifice and great difficulty, eventually sealing his testimony with his blood. Although we revere Joseph Smith as a great man and prophet, who gave his life so we could have the gospel today, we worship God the Father and his son Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
