Hi I'm Amy

I'm a happy wife and a mother to three wonderful sons. I'm a research technologist in a scientific research lab. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Amy. I have been married to my best friend for 27 years and we have 3 grown sons. I am a wife, mother, and a research technician. I love reading, crafting, & decorating my home. I am always on a diet. I love science fiction (Doctor Who, Star Trek...). I make a mean chicken casserole and some pretty darn good homemade pizza! I can still name all of the Thomas the Tank Engine characters even though my sons are grown. My favorite clothing is denim and Danskos. I could celebrate and decorate for Christmas year round if my family would let me. I am working toward a college degree and I love my job and... my boss! ...And I am a Mormon! ;)

Why I am a Mormon

The Mormon church popped in and out of my life several times as a child. When I was about 5 my parents had the missionaries over a few times. In 4th grade a new classmate was a member of the church. She did her very best to be a good missionary to me, and even invited me to visit Salt Lake City with her family that summer. I was thankful for a good friend, but my parents would not let me travel across country with a family they did not know. Finally when I was 17 I met the cutest guy in the whole world! He had just returned from serving a mission for the church in Arizona! At the time I was more concerned about the cute factor and that he drove a Triumph TR6 convertible! We went out several times but one night during a date at Dairy Queen he drew the most amazing thing for me on a napkin. It was the Plan of Salvation that the missionaries teach. It was so simple and so easy to understand. It was like a missing puzzle piece in my life. I am so grateful to say that my sweet date that night proposed to me several months later. Although I was not yet a member of the church he knew in his heart that someday I would come to have a strong testimony of the Gospel of our Savior Jesus Christ. I joined the Mormon church two years after we were married and have never looked back. I am so thankful for my Father in Heaven who loves me and gives me opportunities everyday to serve Him.

How I live my faith

Over the past 24 years I have increased and strengthened my faith by attendance in our weekly Sabbath worship services, and through the many opportunities I have had to serve others. I have served as a leader and teacher in our women's and children's organizations, which includes serving on a leadership council with men and women. Our congregation's Cub Scout Den and Boy Scout Troop have been a constant in my life as we have raised our three sons through completion as Eagle Scouts. One year I even served as Girl's Camp cook (even though I have only sons! LOL!) I have also served on many activity committees. Through all of these many opportunities I have grown to love and serve my brothers and sisters and gain a greater understanding of the work of our Savior, Jesus Christ!
