Hi I'm David

I'm 61 I joined the church when I was 39 and have been self employed all my adult life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi I am 61married to a wonderful woman and am the father of 7 and have two grand children. I have been a member of the LDS church for 21 years now. I love to fish and hunt. I was in the Land Development business for 30 years and now am a full time Taxidermist and artist.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church because this was the first place that was able to answer my questions. Where did I come from? Why am I here? and Where am I going? I wanted a positive and loving place to guide me as I raised my children. I liked the Idea that being a Christian meant living the principals of the gospel all day every day. I never understood why there was not a profit to guide us as in ancient times. It was reassuring to know that we now had a profit on the earth. It was a great comfort to know that I could develop a personal relationship with god the father and that a degree in theology was not required. I also liked the idea of no paid clergy. I was tired of going to other churches and spending a good portion of the church service listening to a financial report. When the Missionaries entered my home for the first time I felt the spirit and I knew that there was something different about them. They spoke about many beautiful things and as I prayed about them it was made known to me by the spirit that what they taught was true. I love this church and the people that are members of it. I am a better person because of it. I don't ever want to go back to the life I was living before I joined the church.

How I live my faith

My relationship with the savior Jesus Christ is the most important thing in my life second only to my love for my family. It is comforting to know that when I pray sincerely there is someone to hear my prayer. I enjoy beginning my day with my family reading the scriptures. Praying together and privately as well as discussing what the plans are for the day. I am happiest and most content when I am serving others. I do this by helping those in need, visiting friends and aquaintences in the hospital and those that are bed ridden or house bound and carring out the duties and responsibilities of my church assignments. As an all volunteer church we are asked to carry out the day to day operation of our local churches. The church is in the forefront of all of my decisions during the day.
