Hi I'm Kelly

I grew up in sunny California. I love my family. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I play violin and piano. I love to read a variety of books. I graduated with my degree in Elementary Education. I got married to my husband and we have 1 daughter. I try my best not to compare my parenting to anyone else's. I love going to the temple and learning what it means to be a daughter of God. I try to keep the commandments but as a human I fail. I am learning to adjust to married life (5 years) and to being a mom and it is not easy but I have faith that I will make it through with the help of my husband and my Father in Heaven.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and I love it. When I think about all of my friends who live without the gospel and the mistakes they have made I know, because of the choices I made and the promises I have made to my Heavenly Father, that I will not have to worry about any of those same mistakes. I continue to live according to the principles because I know the happiness that comes from following His plan. Having moved away from home recently to attend college has been hard. Without my parents around I get to make sure that I attend church every week even when no one I know is going. Having this responsibility has strengthen my testimony a lot because now it is my choice and no one else can make it for me. Now having a family of my own and seeing how much the Church has helped me I want to teach my kids the importance of the Gospel and to have a love for Jesus and the Atonement. Learning more of the Savior and of his sacrifice has helped me come to know my Father in Heaven on a more personal level. This Gospel as helped me realize who I am and that whenever I feel alone in situations that I am never truly alone. I always have a Father who is there to comfort me and listen to all of my petty wants. Life gets hard but I know who I am and where I came from and who is always on my side because of the Gospel.

How I live my faith

I am involved with the Weblos in my ward. I go to church and try to learn from the speakers and the teachers. It is hard sometimes because I am teaching my 18 month old how to be reverent and it is not an easy task but I know that my best efforts are enough. I love accepting callings because it is a way for the Lord to strengthen me and help me grow spiritually and personally. I try to read my scriptures every day and say my prayers. I am not perfect but I am trying every day.
