Hi I'm Cody

I'm a 7th/8th generation Mormon on both sides of my family. I grew up in Indiana and have lived in several states.

About Me

I am currently married and have been for the past three years. We do not have an kids. I am attending graduate school in California for an M.A. in National Security Studies. I currently serve as a Ward Clerk at church.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the Church but do not feel that my own conversion to the Gospel started until I turned 12 years old. At age 12 I was going through a rough time in my life and I know that God sent his servants to help me and to gain my own knowledge of the truthfulness of God's restored Gospel. I have had a testimony of the Church as God's church since the age of 12.

How I live my faith

I served a two year mission to teach others about faith in Idaho from 2003 to 2005. I live my faith my trying my best to heed all the commandments of God and by being as Christ-like with others as I can be. I currently serve in my Church as the Ward Mission Leader, responsible for coordinating the missionary work in my ward. I have served in numerous other ways in the past including as: an Elders Quorum President, Ward Clerk, a counselor with the Young Men, a teacher, a counselor in the Elders Quorum, and numerous other ways.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

God has given us all things willingly and ungrudgingly out of love. He is able to provide all things for His children. He wants us to learn to be like him and give to bless His children. By paying tithing we show God that we are willing to sacrifice as He has and to give to provide for His children. By paying tithing we help contribute to His work as the money goes to pay for such things as temples, land taxes for temples and meetinghouses, electricity, gas, water, and a host of other temporal needs for the Church and its members.
