Hi I'm Laura

I grew up in Utah. I have lived many places as a military wife. I enjoy making new friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of two. I have a daughter who just started High School and a son who is serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have been married for 23 years. I was a member of the Air National Guard for 8 years where I worked in Ground Radio and was also on the Rifle Pistol team. I am a Systems Analyst for a government contractor. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business and a Master's Degree in Innovative Leadership. I love to spend time with my family, read, cook and watch movies. I love thunder storms and sunsets.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of this church my entire life. Life can be rough and the knowledge I have gained learning about my Savior Jesus Christ and his plan for me here on this earth gives me comfort when things aren't going smoothly. I find answers to all my questions in the gospel and through prayer. There is peace, there is love and the tools I need to progress and grow. I am never alone because I know my Savior. He is my friend and has a personal interest in me and my life.

How I live my faith

I have always taught the youth at church. Every age from the nursery kids to the young women preparing to graduate from High School and leave home for college or other endeavors. I love the youth. They are curious and full of energy and respond to positive interaction with adults. They look for the good in people and life. You just have to be willing to listen and give them some of your time. I am currently involved with the Webelos in scouting. These boys teach me more than I could ever teach them. It is a blessing.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

You can talk with people who are members of this church, you can meet with the missionaries. You can read the Book of Mormon and search the church websites. All of these things are good and will give you a place to start from, but the only way to find out if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true is to kneel down and ask your Father in Heaven with a sincere desire to receive an answer. Listen with your heart for the quiet reassurance that He is there and that He will answer your prayers. Show more Show less
