Hi I'm Katie

I'm an Alaskan living in the desert. I'm a mom to twins (and more). I own my own business. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a stay-at-home mom who also happens to own my own PR consultancy, so my to-do list combines the best of both these crazy worlds. Whatever "free" time I have is usually filled riding my bike or reading. My husband and I are parents to four amazing children, including one set of twins, all of whom keep us on our toes. But no matter how busy life gets, I never fail to take some quiet time every day to thank my Heavenly Father for His tender mercies I see every day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was in my early 20s before I really knew the answer to this question. Until then I had lived the Mormon "culture" but never felt compelled to find out for myself if I really believed everything I was taught as a child. I found myself faced with a decision that would take me either away from the church or toward it, and I chose to move toward it. I studied. I prayed. I felt confirmations in my heart that told me I had made the right choice. And I have never looked back. The Gospel of Christ is the best thing that has ever happened to me. It gives me the direction I lacked before. His life provides an example of the way I want to live: serving others, teaching my children and loving everyone. I have no doubt that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the restored gospel of Christ and has the fullness of truth that has not been present on Earth since His death. And I know that as I live the commandments and follow His example, I will live with Him again.

How I live my faith

I'm not sure how someone can NOT live their faith, no matter what it is. I am often asked why I'm so happy all the time. I'm told I am evenly keeled and calm. This is how I live my faith. I try to treat others with kindness and love. I try to be selfless and look for ways to serve others. I try to be a living example of the precepts and principles I teach my children. I try to stay close to my Savior by reading my scriptures and praying. My faith defines me.
