Hi I'm Mimi

I'm a mother and a wife. I speak Haitian-Creole and I love teaching others. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I think one of the best things about life is being able to learn new and exciting things and then sharing that knowledge with others.

Why I am a Mormon

My Sister had ordered a free copy of the Book of Mormon from the T.V., and that began my journey to becoming a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My sister was taking the lessons with the missionaries, and they had invited her to attend church. She had to work that Sunday so she suggested that I go instead. Following that Sunday, I continued to meet with the missionaries, even after my sister had stopped. They discussed with me the importance of the Bible and the Book of Mormon as testaments of Jesus Christ. They asked me to pray for myself to know if the Book of Mormon was truly another scriptural account of Jesus Christ and that if it was translated, by a modern day prophet named Joseph Smith. I decided to take on their challenge, I went on my knees in fervent prayer as I asked my Heavenly Father to give me the answer to my prayers. For weeks I prayed and I ended up reading the Book of Mormon cover to cover. One day while reading the book I knew the answer came, it was peaceful and it burned within me as I was filled with the Holy Spirit. It's the feeling that you get when you haven't seen someone you love in a long time, and then you're finally reunited. My heart was truly filled with happiness. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I have a firm and unwavering testimony of Jesus Christ. I know that it is only through him that I can receive salvation from my sins. I believe that he came to this earth to bring salvation to all of God's children. I have tasted the fruit of the gospel and my life has been blessed as I have put into practice those things the gospel of Jesus Christ has taught me. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is here on the earth and I will strive to live my life by the values that I hold dear.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be better than yesterday. While I am not always successful, I am happy to know that I have a Savior named Jesus Christ who makes it possible for me to ask for forgiveness for my shortcomings. It is through his Atonement for my sins that I can have the opportunity to return and live with my Heavenly Father again. The gospel of Jesus Christ has brought me so much happiness. I can't even imagine going through life without my Savior as my guide. I love helping the children in church that I have the opportunity to serve in my church calling. They have such sweet spirits and they love unconditionally. They help to bring me closer to my Heavenly Father because of their example of faith and love. I am thankful for church responsibilities that helps to stretch and teach me as a disciple of God.
