Hi I'm Mark J

I'm a nerd. I love to learn. I'm curious. And I'm proud to be a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah, USA as the oldest of five children. As a person I love to read and study, especially science fiction and fantasy novels. I also love to learn about the world around me and love to be out in nature in the beauty given to us by our Heavenly Father.

Why I am a Mormon

I started my life out in this church, but wil time have come to know that it is truly Christ's church on earth. I can't describe how I came to know, but as I live the gospel of Jesus Christ and apply it in my life, I draw closer to my Savior and come to know more and more that He lives, and He still speaks to man.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to remember what my Savior, Jesus Christ, has done for me, and apply his teachings in my life. As such I love to participate in service projects to benefit members of the community and show them my love through my service. Currently as a missionary for the church, in St. Louis, Missouri, it is my privlege to share the love of Jesus Christ with those that I come in contact with so that they may feel of the love that I have come to feel from serving Him and learning more about Him.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Mark J
Temples are used to draw closer to God our Heavnely Father and His son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. In them, worthy members are able to make covenants that are a source of strength and comfort in trying times. In temples, we are also able to aid our deceased ancestors on their path back to our Heavenly Father and work to link our families in such away that we may be together forever. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Mark J
Absolutely yes. God established a pattern of calling prophets anciently, and if He is the same yesterday, today and forever, it would follow that he would call a prophet today. Show more Show less

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Mark J
Christ set up one church while He was on the earth with 12 Apostles to lead the church after He was crucified and ressurected. Today the 12 Apostles continue to lead Christ's church here on the earth and are called to be special witnesses of the divinity of Jesus Christ. We also learn from Ephesians that Christ's church is built upon a foundation of Apostles and prophets, who testify to the world of His divinity and His plan of Salvation for all of God's children Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Mark J
Not at all, Joseph Smith is revered as a prophet that restored Christ's church to the earth and nothing more. We worship God the Father, and it is our goal to return to His presence after this life, through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
