Hi I'm Melodie

I'm a grant writer, a dance instructor, real estate officianato, sushi enthusiast, and a nursing student.

About Me

I'm a grant writer, a dance instructor, a real estate officianato, a homeschooling mother of 5, a sushi enthusiast, a stained glass window maker, and a nursing student. I grew up in the inner city, but live now in the country. I love downhill skiing, remodeling old Victorian homes, baking, and my family!

Why I am a Mormon

My undergraduate field of study is Child Psychology with an emphasis in research. Research demonstrates that children raised with religion are less pron to risk taking behaviors, depression, and so forth than those who are not raised with religion. This knowledge was the impetus that I needed to investigate other religions since I was not happy or active in my own. I did an intense "church search" and study of religion - beginning with the church down the block and ending with the LDS church. When the missionaries shared the doctrine of beliefs of the LDS church with me I said to myself, "Yes, I agree with that...that is exactly what I have always believed in my head and my heart." I have been LDS for 25 or so years now. I continue to be a Mormon because I am a lot better person with this religion than without it and my family is so happy here.

How I live my faith

For years I have taught a before school scripture study course for the youth in out town. I currently teach Sunday school classes for 15 and 16 year old children at our church. I also spend time volunteering in my community.

What are some things that tell to you there is a God?

I have spent 1.5 years intensely studying anatomy-physiology and microbiology at the graduate level - after this study there is no doubt in my mind that there is an intelligent designer. It's all to orchestrated and beautiful to be happenstance. Show more Show less
