Hi I'm Jill

I wasn't always, but now I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom, a wife, a journalist and a daughter of God. One of my favorite sayings is "Misery has enough company...dare to be happy!" I AM happy! That doesn't mean that life is easy - sometimes it's pretty hard - but I'm glad to know who I am and why I'm here on earth. I feel so blessed to have a wonderful family and great friends, and a sure knowledge of my Savior Jesus Christ and His restored Gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I wasn't raised in any religion but after my family moved to Arizona I had many friends who were LDS and who shared with me what they believed. In high school I wanted to learn more and met with the missionaries. I read the Book of Mormon and "A Marvelous Work and a Wonder" (a book I would recommend if you want to understand why we believe that Christ's church needed to be restored to the earth). I was baptized after high school and have been an active member since. I am so grateful to know who my Savior is and that I have a Heavenly Father who knows me and loves me. I will ever be grateful to friends who shared their beliefs with me and a loving God who answered my prayers.

How I live my faith

I try to look at my daily life with an eternal perspective and try to remember what is most important, which to me is my faith and my family. Every day I look for ways that I can serve or uplift others, even in some small way, by sharing my time and the talents that I have been blessed with. Each morning I pray that I can be aware of the needs of others and serve at least one person that day with love and acts of kindness. I try to remember to follow the example of our Savior in what I do and say.

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

Jill
Death is not the end. Death is really a beginning—another step forward in Heavenly Father’s plan for His children. Someday, like everyone else, your physical body will die. But your spirit does not die, it goes to the spirit world, where you will continue to learn and progress and may be with loved ones who have passed on. Show more Show less
