Hi I'm Lauren

I grew up in New Mexico. I graduated from BYU. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from BYU in April 2010 in Sociology. I loved the education, atmosphere, professors, students, and the spirit that dwell at BYU. It brought a whole new way of learning to me. I am the youngest of 6 children. I served my mission in the South Dakota Rapid City Mission. I loved every second I was on a mission. I miss it every day. I work at UVU as a financial aid counselor. I enjoy golfing as well as shopping. I enjoy life and try to be out making history.

Why I am a Mormon

No one has told me to join the church. It wasn't expected of me the be an active member, but I am. I chose to be Mormon because it's what gives me peace in my life. Since being baptized into the church, it has brought a new meaning to life. I am Mormon because it brings me joy, peace, comfort, memories, knowledge, and happiness. Everyone has problems no matter who we are, but being Mormon helps me to deal with my problems in another way. To truly lean on our Savior to help us in our times of need. I am Mormon because it keeps me on the path of happiness into eternal life. I am Mormon because I am continually learning about my Savior and how I can be more like Him by reading the scriptures, prayer, going to church, and learning from others. Through these many different ways, I am able to obtain a stronger conviction or testimony that He lives, He loves us, He has provided a way for us to return to Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I attend a Student Ward here in Provo, UT and it's amazing to see the different ways people are serving others through prayer, acts of kindness, home and visiting teaching. I try to participate by helping others in their times of need. I try to be a faithful visiting teacher and be there for those sisters that may not know anyone or whom may feel pressure in our society. I live my faith by praying and seeking the Holy Ghost to help guide me to those in need of help. I live my faith by trying to keep the commandments, attending the temple to do work for the dead, and reading my scriptures. I love to go to the MTC and help the new missionaries prepare to become servants of God.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

As much as we talk about Joseph Smith and everything he has done in restoring the church upon the earth, we do not restore Joseph Smith. We acknowledge his efforts in translating the Book of Mormon and restoring the church back on earth, BUT we do not worship him. We worship our Savior, Jesus Christ. We strive to become more Christlike in our lives. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ because He is the Savior and Redeemer of the world and we can't get to highest glory in Heaven without Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
