Hi I'm Steve

I own a small real estate and property management business. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy spending time in the outdoors--hiking, camping, biking...you name it. Scouting has always been a big part of my life for that reason. It gives me the opportunity to do what I enjoy doing while helping young people accomplish something great. I enjoy reading as well. I read on my own and I read to my kids just before putting them to bed.

Why I am a Mormon

It's true that being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has many privileges. Just like members of many other churches I am surrounded by people who love and serve God and their fellow man. That in and of itself is a good reason for anyone to join a church. I also love being a Mormon because it gives me opportunities to serve other people without compensation. That makes it easier to do things with pure intent, which is how the Savior served. I also love being a Mormon because we have wonderful leaders who provide great examples of how to live. They lead with love, always inviting us to do better and be more like the Savior. All of those are great reasons for being a Mormon, but when it comes down to it the most important reason is that it is true. As I have prayed and tried to live according to the teachings of the Savior, the Holy Ghost has borne witness to me that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true--that Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ and was called by them to restore the true church upon the earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it was written by prophets under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. I know that the Book of Mormon is precious to God and Jesus Christ. I know that there is a prophet on the earth today and that God speaks to us through him. Knowing these things provides me with the strength and conviction I need in order to love my wife and children, resist temptations, and continue to strive to follow the example of Jesus Christ. I feel like I can ask God for help for my daily needs and I know that he'll help me in his way.

How I live my faith

I have had numerous opportunities to serve in the church--many of which have been with scouting and teaching young people. I have also been involved in organizing large youth activities in our community. I also visit the congregations (wards) in our community and talk to them on assigned topics from time to time.
