Hi I'm Cami

I am the wife of a student and the mother of 3. I love cycling, shopping, camping and sharing the gospel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and the mother of 3 children- a 10 year old boy and 7 year old boy/girl twins. I love cycling and the occasional run. I grew up visiting the west coast every year and love the ocean. My husband is currently in school for his 2nd Master's Degree to become a Nurse Anesthetist. After he is done we will work 3 years for the Air Force and we will move away and leave our extended families for the first time in our married lives. We are excited for the adventure. I love meeting new people, reading, crafting and I just learned how to sew.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon. I was taught by my parents and grandparents. But as I got older and life got harder, and big decisions needed to be made, I realized I needed help and I needed to know for myself if this church was true. As a teenager I prayed to the God of this Universe to ask him for help and if this church was true. He heard my prayer. He answered my prayer. That is the great thing about God: he will hear and answer your prayer. You don't have to take my word about the church. You don't have to take your friend's word or the missionaries word that this church is true. YOU can know for yourself. If you ask God with a sincere heart and with real intent (sincerely intending to act upon the answers you receive) he will answer your prayer. I know this to be true because it's happened to me many times. We can actually communicate with God. He will talk to us. He wants to talk to us. He loves us so much. I also find great comfort and peace in being a member of the church. Let's face it: the world is a pretty scary place sometimes and it's hard to feel peace and hope. But, I find peace in the knowledge of a living prophet on the earth today. Just like Moses in his day, or Noah in his, we have a prophet that God speaks to on the earth. Again, don't take my word for it. Ask the missionaries or ask a neighbor who is Mormon to tell you about the prophet. Then, you can ask Him-- ask God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to live as the Savior Jesus Christ taught us to live. I smile at others, I help elderly people at the store, I just try to be a good person. l serve as a leader that helps little children learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ. The children learn songs that teach doctrine straight from the scriptures. I also check on several women in our neighborhood to make sure all is well with them and their families.

What is the Relief Society?

Cami
The Relief Society is a world wide organization of women that provides just what it's name says: Relief relief to all those in need, no matter religion, race, or creed and without expectation of compensation. The Relief Society is the world's largest organization of women. On a global level, the Relief Society provides many, many services such as personal hygiene kits to those in countries where supplies are not readily available, mainly after a natural disaster. They also provide school kits to school aged children who cannot obtain the supplies themselves. They provide food to the hungry and clothing to the poor. On a more local level, the Relief Society provides services to those who cannot read or speak the local language such as reading or language lessons. Also, Relief Society members provide meals to those who are sick or recovering from sickness, or to those who have just had babies. They seek to reach out to those who are lost and lonely. The Relief Society believes in empowering women to be the best wives and mothers they can in the world today by teaching principles that better the home and the woman individually. They want to provide women all the tools they need to help their own families be successful, productive and happy. Most of all, the Relief Society seeks to help women know and understand their divine nature and relationship with God and how much he truly loves them. Those who attend the Sunday meetings of the Relief Society are provided with spiritually uplifting messages about the Savior Jesus Christ and about the Restored Gospel that help them prepare for the week to come and face this world with the confidence of a daughter of God.
