Hi I'm Cathy

I'm a mother, a sister, an aunt, a wife, and a daughter of Heavenly Father. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife of 18 years and a mother of 4 almost 21 years. My son is grown now and recently married a wonderful young lady. I have 3 beautiful daughters at home. My oldest daughter will be going into her senior year this year and my youngest daughter will be an 8th grader. My life seems so busy at times that I enjoy that wonderful quiet moment that I get every now and then. My oldest daughter is musical, she loves to sing, act, and play piano. My middle daughter is my go getter. She is athletic, straight A student, and very detail oriented. My baby is my mini me and she plays the clarinet and piano, strong willed, and wants to become a journalist. I am a stay at home mom and enjoy it but sometimes I do miss working outside the home. I do alot of arts and crafts and remodeling within my home. My husband has spent most of our married years travelling and recently we have decided our family needs to be together under one roof all the time so I relocated from Colorado to Pennsylvania. Although I grew up and spent my adult life in Kansas and Colorado, Pennsylvania is a wonderful new adventure. Moving so far away from family, friends, and familiarity didn't mean closing the book, it just meant adding another chapter. Life is always what a person makes it and mine is wonderful.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was almost 15, my biological mother abandoned my sister who was 10 and myself. We lived in our home until the utilities were shut off and then we started living on the streets. I babysat for money to feed my sister and would ask friends to sneak her in their windows at night so she could have a warm place to sleep. We lived this way for quite sometime, it was a small town and most everyone knew we were on the streets but offered no help. One of my friends would let my sister and I sneak into her window and sleep hidden most nights and one day she told me that she had told her mom everything and her mom contacted the proper authorities. I was worried until I found out that my friends mom didnt just turn us in but went in and got her foster care license before she did so we could live with her. My friend and her family were the only mormon family in the town. They introduced us to the Church, missionaries, and Jesus Christ. Even at my young age, I knew this Gospel was the truth. I introduced my husband to the Church and he converted and have raised our children in the Gospel. I have a testimony that God and Jesus Christ led me down the path to the true Gospel that was restored upon the earth.

How I live my faith

I take an active role in my Callings at Church. I have taught Primary, helped as the assistant Achievement Girls leader and later the leader, served as the Young Womens secretary, and provided the Sunday programs. I attend the Sabbath Day Meetings and Church activities. I take every opportunity to serve my fellow man and have provided a home and meals to those in need. I try to provide a listening ear to those who need to talk, a helping hand to those who need guidance, and an open heart to everyone I meet. I indroduced my children to the Gospel and strive to be a constant example in their lives.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

From the creation of the beautiful earth, to the animals and plants, to our very existence is proof there is a God. Prayer and Blessings are also proof of God. Show more Show less
