Hi I'm Will Shulca

I grew up in Ecuador. I am an Electrical Engineer. I am a father, a husband and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Ecuador. My parents were baptized into the LDS church some 27 years ago and they have taught me many great things that have helped me shape my life. I work as an electrical engineer for John Degree. My wife, Samantha, and I have 3 beautiful children. They are the love of my life and through them I have learned the meaning of sacrifice and true love. I hope to teach my children, by example, the importance of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. There is nothing that I can give them that will be worth more than the knowledge that God lives and that He loves them.

Why I am a Mormon

I could say that I am a Mormon because that is the religion of my parents but that would be a lie. Although I grew up a Mormon, my parents always gave me the freedom to choose and therefore I had to make some very crucial decisions on my own. I had to figure out on my own if this was the path that I needed to follow. However, the teachings of my parents played an important role in that process. They shared with me what they believed and why that helped me know how I needed to approach the issue. There is one teaching that prevailed beyond any other, namely: the importance of prayer. Having a sincere, specific and faithful communication with my Father in Heaven made it possible for me to decide what I needed to do with my life. Although I have not always been 100% active in the church I have always known where home is. At a very young age I learned that my Father in Heaven loves me and wants the best for me. Had it not been for my good parents who taught me the principle of prayer, I would have never known what God wanted for me in my life. I have matured in the faith and have come to know my Savior Jesus Christ. A few years ago I was able to serve a mission. That was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. It was not easy. Inviting people to communicate with God is not as simple as it sounds. Those who listened to our message, and gave it a try, were able to come to know God and Jesus Christ in a very personal way. There is not much that people can do about this. It is a personal issue between you and God. That is why I am a Mormon, because I know that God lives and He loves me. Through the atoning blood of His beloved son Jesus Christ we all can return to live with him one day. I know that to be true.

How I live my faith

I try to participate in church and community activities as much as my time and responsibilities allow me to. One of the things that I enjoy the most is being able to visit young families who are going through the same things that my wife and I are. It is fun to be able to relate to others and see how others face their trials. That gives me courage to go through my days when things are not so great. Being a Mormon is not an easy thing. I cannot just go to church on Sunday and called it good. Being a Mormon is a life style that is based on great values and beliefs.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

There is only one thing that a person must do in order to know this. That is PRAYER. If you pray with a sincere heart and with full confidence, the Lord will answer that prayer of faith. Show more Show less
