Hi I'm Rico

I grew up in Louisiana. I served in the US Air Force. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a happily married father of four great kids and a training manager for an oil and gas company. I have a Master's degree in Organization Leadership with an emphasis in Human Resources Management. My hobbies include camping, hiking, boating, windsurfing, and golf.

Why I am a Mormon

I’m a Mormon because I believe The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is truly the church of Jesus Christ. I believe He leads this church through prophets and apostles just as He did after His ascension (Acts 1:2). Because He is at the head, the doctrines of the Church are pure and unpolluted by the errant philosophy’s of men. This ensures “unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God…that we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine” (Ephesians 4:13 – 14). The gospel of Christ taught in His church gives me hope. I know that through Him I will live again. I know I will be saved in the kingdom of God. I know my wife can be my companion for all eternity and my family can be together forever. I understand who I am, where I came from, my purpose in this life, and what will happen after this life. I have found answers to all of my questions and am continually drawing nearer to Christ as I learn.

How I live my faith

Currently, I’m serving as the bishop (pastor) of our congregation. In that role, I direct the work of the congregation, counsel those in need, support the youth ministry, and provide spiritual guidance. It’s a blessing to see all that the members of congregation do to strengthen each other and help others draw nearer to Christ.
