Hi I'm Alan

I'm an entrepreneur and a Mormon

About Me

I'm a happily married father of six children who bring me great joy and satisfaction. I love mountain climbing, canyoneering, backpacking, and fishing. I also love building businesses, but I have to admit, it doesn't seem to come easy for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I love Mormon teachings that we are children of a loving Heavenly Father who has purposefully created us and provided laws for us to live to maximize our ultimate joy and happiness. I love that He provided a Savior, Jesus Christ, to help us overcome weakness and find strength in our journey to become like our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I have worked with youth, mostly young men, most of my adult years. Teaching and encouraging young people to do good things with their lives is both challenging and rewarding!

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

I believe Christ paid an infinite price to take upon himself all of our sins and weaknesses. This love, a willingness to pay any necessary price to help those we love change when needed, is inspiring to me! I want to be that kind of person to my family and people around me! Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

It's always much harder to confront something wrong and help fix it than to shrug it off, or hope someone else will deal with it. Throughout my life, I have been grateful to parents, friends, and teachers who took an interest in my development and were willing to confront and help me with my weaknesses. Jesus Christ is this kind of friend and more. Through the Atonement, He was able to pay the price for all the sins and weaknesses of all mankind - making Him uniquely able to nourish us through any challenge! Show more Show less
