Hi I'm Martin Rich

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Arlington Virginia. I'm a software engineer

About Me

My wife and I have been married for 33 years. We have 5 children and 3 grandchildren. I am a graduate of the College of William and Mary, was a school teacher and gymnastics coach for 3 years before going into the software engineering field.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 17 I began asking the serious questions that most people ask, like "Why am I here on earth?", "Where did I come from?" and "Where am I going after I die?". My church was not able to answer some of the questions that I had, so I began looking to other churches for answers. I had a good friend who had joined the Mormon Church and knew that I was looking for answers and he felt that I could find them in the Mormon Church. I studied the Book of Mormon and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for almost a year, and all of my questions were answered. I prayed to know if the Church was true and I received a powerful answer and so I was Baptized. 32 years later it was still one of the best decisions I have ever made.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as the Bishop in my ward, but I have had many callings as a seminary teacher, a Young Men's leader, and as a Mission leader. All of these callings have allowed me to serve the Lord and to serve others, which has brought me great joy. Many people question whether Mormon's are Christians, and all I can say is that if they would just observe members as they serve in their callings, they will see Christlike service in action.

What is being a Mormon like?

Martin Rich
It is incredible. It is like having a huge family who care for you and help you. It gives me the opportunity to learn, to grow, and to serve. It has brought me to love our Savior, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
