Hi I'm Robert Sr.

I'm a husband, son, brother, father of 4, grandfather, very middle aged and really quite simple and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As an unimpressive and unassuming middle aged (50 something) American, things that bring me joy are simple. My top priority is my wonderful wife, my 4 kids of which 3 are now out on their own and my new role as a grandfather. I work as a middle level manager for a well-respected financial services company. I consider myself a dedicated leader in the organization and try to do all I can to assist my personnel to whom I have been given stewardship. During down times I love to serve my local ward (our congregation) and have served as a Bishop for this wonderful congregation. I have grown to love the families and individuals of our ward which comprises what would be akin to a neighborhood congregation. I freely admit I have a weakness for watching college football and have lost many a Saturday in that pursuit. But most of all I love my wife, children, grandchildren and enjoy spending time with them. Unlike football, many more hours are spent with them!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and was raised as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Though raised in the LDS faith it was not until I was a young man that I gained a reassurance that the faith I was immersed in during my childhood and youth would provide me the measure by which I would know God lives and Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. Now as an adult this has shaped who I am as husband and father. My family is the most important thing to me as we collective are doing all we can to live as the Savior would have us live knowing that it is only through him that we can live together forever as families.

How I live my faith

As a Mormon I try every day to live my faith by following the example of the Savior. I do this in the way I treat my family, friends, co-workers or any other individual that I might come in contact with each day. I often miss the mark but I know that with each passing day of my life I can make an effort to try a little harder, to do a little better always having joy in the journey. I love serving in the church and find great joy in reaching out to our families through our inspired home teaching program. Currently I am blessed with the opportunity to serve with our adult members who are single. These vibrant single adults bring a wonderful diversity to our congregations coming from all facets of individual human experience. I have grown to love and respect each of them in understanding the circumstances that has brought them to being single knowing that the Lord loves and cherishes each one of them.

Are Mormons Christians?

Robert Sr.
Today there is a great deal of discussion surrounding whether members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are Christians. As members of the Church we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior and King. He is the only perfect Man who ever walked the earth. His is the living son of the living God. He is our Savior and our Redeemer and it is only through his atoning sacrifice that comes the glorious opportunity of eternal life. Each Sunday as I worship him and partake of the sacrament I renew covenants I made at baptism. Each day I feel his influence in my life through the Holy Spirit. I can testify the members of the LDS faith are Christians in every sense of the word. Show more Show less
