Hi I'm Mimi

I'm a wife, a mother and I'm mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother. I have been married to my to my eternal sweetheart for 20 years and he still makes my heart flutter when he comes into the room! I have two of the MOST AMAZING Kidlets ever! You will find me at my absolute HAPPIEST when I am with my husband and children! They complete me! I feel so very blessed. I am so thankful for the Gospel in my life, it is the very reason I met my husband and the very reason I am where I am today... it is my road map.

Why I am a Mormon

I think the easiest answer would be that I was raised in the church after my parents joined when I was three years old, but really that isn't my reason for being a member of the church. I have read, pondered and prayed about the gospel and have felt that burning within. So, my reason for being a mormon is because I KNOW that it's real, it is the gospel of Jesus Christ in it's fullness.

How I live my faith

Our family is very involved in the Mormon Miracle Pageant held every summer in Manti Utah at the foot of the Temple there. We have been involved around nine years, now. We love it and we love the feeling that we get as we participate each night. I have a calling in the Pageant as the Costume Chair and so I have the charge of taking care of about 1000 costumes. I do costume fittings, check outs, check ins each night and I do the laundry after the pageant is done. I have a group of some of the most amazing workers who help me do my job. My husband has a calling as Costume Building Security. He takes care of any of the needs we have in the building. Also, my husband and two children act in the Pageant each year. My daughter has done many dancing parts and my son has had the distinct privilege of playing in many roles, including Young Joseph Smith, Captain Moroni and Mortal Moroni. My husband has had the opportunity to play Nephi from 3rd Nephi and this year, he and my son played father and son Mormon and Mortal Moroni together. It was a neat experience for them. The Pageant has shaped who my children have become. It has helped to build their testimonies of not only the characters they have portrayed but of service and of missionary work. One of their favorite parts of Pageant is going down into the audience and sharing their testimonies of the gospel and of the characters they are portraying. They have met some amazing people out in the audience and have been touched. I am so thankful that we have the opportunity to be a part of the Mormon Miracle Pageant. It's been such a blessing in our lives.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

I think what makes a mormon woman stand out is that she puts her family and it's needs first. That does not mean that she cannot have a job too. I know many mormon women who have jobs and also take care of their family's needs. Take for example, my daughter who is going to school to become a doctor. She wants a family and will make that her priority when it comes time to get married. I believe men and women in the church are treated as equals in that we all have our own responsibilities. The women are revered as special, just as men are in holding the priesthood. The role of men and women work together perfectly, which is just as it should be working together to become an eternal family. Show more Show less
