Hi I'm Walter

I'm a Mormon and proud of it.

About Me

I'm proud to be a member of this church. I've served a mission for my church in Germany and in Austria from 2007 until 2009. I have a wonderful family. Lived my whole life in Upstate New York. I love playing football and other sports. I am studying exercise science and I want to become a physical therapist.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members of the church when I was born. I went with them to church ever since I was a little baby. My parents allowed me to choose, when I got older, if I wanted to go to church with them. I knew, that I had a good feeling, when I went to church. I knew I would find my answers reading in the scriptures. After truly looking for an answer in the scriptures, including the Book of Mormon, and through much prayer, I received the knowledge, that this church is the church of Christ.

How I live my faith

In my congregation, I have the wonderful opportunity to teach a group of children about Jesus Christ and the love that he has for all of us. Through this opportunity, I have come closer to my Father in Heaven, for I know that I am a child of God. I try my best, to greet everyone, when they come to church. It makes their day and it really makes my day. I also live my belief, while not condoning others for not living my faith. The gospel of Jesus Christ has brought an indescribable joy into my life. I just want to pass that joy onto all I meet.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

When I was 17 years old, the leader of the church, then President Gordon B. Hinckley, asked all of the members to read the Book of Mormon by the end of the calendar year. Knowing, that I haven't read the Book of Mormon through, I decided to take on this challange. Through it I have learned so much about my Savior, and I began to receive a witness that it was true. I finally got done with reading the Book of Mormon at 10 pm New Years Eve. At the end of the Book of Mormon, the prophet Moroni gives us a promise, that we can know that the Book of Mormon is true when we read it, ponder its message in our hearts, then ask God, if it's true. I knelt by my bed and asked my Heavenly Father, if the Book of Mormon is true. Afterwards I had this feeling in my heart, that I can only describe as a very warm feeling, that the Book of Mormon is true, and that God knows me and that he loves me. My life changed for the better after that experience. Show more Show less
