Hi I'm Barry Zundel

I'm an artist, animator, a father of four, and a husband. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Ever since I was a child, I wanted to be involved in animation. I never knew that I could make my hobby my career. I have been blessed with the ability to live that dream, and to live it with my best friend by my side - my beautiful wife. I feel that my marriage is more important than any summer blockbuster I could be involved in, and that teaching my children to be charitable, loving, kind, hard working individuals, with a strong faith in Jesus Christ, is the most important thing that I can do in this life. I love being in the outdoors, whether playing on the beach with my kids, climbing up a densely wooded trail, rafting down a raging river, or watching the reflection of the sun going down on a mirrored lake. But most of all, I love doing those things with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

There is too much in life that simply and beautifully tells me that there is a meaning for our lives. The relationships that we forge in this life are so integral to us, that to have it all end at death makes all life meaningless. This is why I am Mormon. To know clearly and simply where I came from, why I am here, and where I am going after this life is the greatest knowledge that I can ever have. To know who God is and what my relation to Him is, and what His plan for me is, gives me purpose in everything that I do, and clarity in how I live my life. To also know that because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I can live with my Father in Heaven again, and be with my wife and children after this life is the most comforting knowledge that I have. I know that what I believe is true, not because someone told me, not because I spent years learning about it, but because I asked my Father in Heaven if it was, and he quietly and simply answered me. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by trying to live my life the way the Savior would want me to. I try to love God with all of my heart, and love my neighbor - no matter who they are - as myself. I serve in my local church in many capacities - teaching others, scheduling time for the local leaders to meet with members, cleaning the church building, visiting those who I have responsibility for, and many other things. These things give me great joy as I try to serve others and do what Christ would do if he were here Himself. I try to also be a good example in my community and my workplace, serving with others at school, in Boy Scouts, mentoring young men. In my personal life, I attempt to emulate Jesus Christ by treating all others as I would want to be treated, regardless of who they are or what their background is. I try to teach my children to do the same - to serve and love those around them. I also try to teach other about what has made my life so amazing - the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My life has not been easy, and it has not been perfect. But I know that God lives, and that He has restored His truth through the Prophet Joseph Smith in these latter days.
