Hi I'm Cherie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been a wife for 47 years, a mother of 5 beautiful children and a grandmother of 13 exceptional kids. When I look at our family picture, there's 22 of us, it makes me so pleased to think "Wow Honey, look what we did"! The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has given me a tremendous path to run on. I have had guidelines for happiness, healthy living, and was taught to listen to the Spirit for direction. I know I've ended up at a better place because of the teachings of Christ in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the church when I was a small child. I started asking questions about God and they needed help answering them. We went "church shopping" every Sunday. Our neighbor was a Mormon and invited us to go to his church. My parents felt so welcome there and they had great activities for kids and families, it was a perfect fit for us.

How I live my faith

My husband and I will soon be serving a mission. It will be a great opportunity to share what has been the most important thing in our lives, the gospel of Jesus Christ. It's a great responsibility, the world we live in can be a hard place, we all need an anchor. The teachings of Christ are like a warm blanket on a blistery cold day, safe, warm and comforting.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

The Bible is the word of God, as far as it is translated correctly, and the Book of Mormon is a companion to it. We believe you can get a greater understanding of God and His teachings when you study the scriptures. I have a friend, who wasn't a member of our church, who read the Book of Mormon just to prove it wrong. He was quite surprised to see how they complimented each other. In fact, he and his wife joined the church after his study. Show more Show less
