Hi I'm Carolyn

Mix Theatre, Music, Psychology, and Computers ... What do you get? Me! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love learning and being creative. If I could afford it, I'd add a doctorate degree to my BA in Theatre and MA in Counseling Psychology. When I have time, my creativity extends through writing, music (especially singing), dance, cooking, textile arts, videography, and tole painting. I also work with computer software in my current job. Guess I'm trying to cover all bases. ;)

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up without a father in my home. I always felt close to my Heavenly Father and would talk to him as if He were my mortal father. He has always been there for me even when I doubt. I'm a Mormon because the fullness of the gospel helps me draw closer to Christ and God and keeps me going even when I feel like I can't. The gospel helps me understand the truth about who I am.

How I live my faith

I just finished serving the young children in my church by helping organize Sunday services for them. Singing and special presentations are done after they've had lessons in age specific classes with their teachers. Every year we provide an opportunity for these children, ages 3-11, to share what they've learned through song and word with the rest of the congregation. One of my jobs was to coordinate that program. Now, I coordinate music for meetings. Right up my alley. :) Music brings the spirit into meetings and sets the stage in a way little else can.

What is the Relief Society?

Relief Society is a woman's organization that cares for women and their families in the church. It serves to strengthen them by lifting and watching over one another, studying the gospel, and serving where ever there is a need be it physical, emotional, or spiritual. Every woman 18 years or older is a member of this organization. The Relief Society is organized with a president and counselors who works closely with the ecclesistical leader of the congregation to help see to the needs of the congregation. All the women in Relief Society have various assignments, one of the most important being to visit the women of the congregation on a regular basis to teach, friendship, and serve them. This is called Visiting Teaching. Show more Show less
