Hi I'm Bill

I'm a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Air Traffic Controller, Realtor and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married, have 4 adult children and nine grandchildren and counting. I have been an Air Traffic Controller for over 30 years. My Family and I have been cast members of both the Hill Cumorah Pageant in Palmyra NY and the City of Joseph Pageant in Nauvoo IL.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church along with my wife when we were newlyweds. My wife, Tina was looking for a church to raise our family in. She was always asking our friends what church they attended, but could not find what she was looking for. One day a knock at our door changed our life forever. A new couple moving into the neighborhood had mistakenly come to our house thinking it was for rent. We invited them in to use our phone to find out which house on our street was for rent, and a wonderful friendship was formed. We could both see our new friends had something special, and as our friendship grew, Tina asked Susan where they attended church. Susan replied they were Mormons, and Tina quickly changed the subject thinking that Mormonism was too far out there to even consider. However as time went by, and the example of David and Susan continued to impress us, Tina asked Susan to tell her about the church. Susan invited us to learn from the Missionaries. As the Missionaries taught us, and as David and Susan took us to different church meetings and activities, we began to change. We were happier, we found direction in our life, and we were growing closer to each other and our Savior. We will always be grateful to David and Susan for bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ into our life, and although we have each moved across the country from each other, David and Susan are eternal friends, and they will always be a part of our family.

How I live my faith

The gospel of Jesus Christ has changed my life and that of my family. I have a purpose and direction that I did not have before. Because I have been so blessed and enriched by His message, I feel compelled to share it with those I come in contact with. I can see how the gospel can change a persons life for the better, and literally can their heart. The gospel fills a void that most people don't even know they have. There is nothing more important than learning that Jesus is the Christ, the Savior and Redemer of all mankind, and sharing that message brings me everlasting joy.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Church and politics should not be mixed. One of the things I like about the church is that it teaches us correct principles and then let's us chose for ourselves. Everyone is free as an individual to support whomever or whatever they choose. Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

We do believe the Bible is the word of God. Before I was a Mormon, I had a difficult time understanding what I read in the Bible. The Book of Mormon is easier to read than the Bible because it is written in a more modern form of English. It has helped me to understand the way the Lord's servants speak. I now have a better understanding of the Bible because of the witness of the Book of Mormon. Show more Show less
