Hi I'm Bessie

I was born and raised in Colorado, USA. I am an art teacher. I am a daughter, sister, wife, stepmother and more. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I am a 30 year old mother to two very wonderful step-children. Family has always and continues to play an important role in my life. Now even more as my family grows with additions and in distance. Whenever big life decisions come around I think about how it will affect those in my family. I am an avid photographer. On much of my spare time one can find me with a camera in my hand taking pictures, of family, friends, and the wonderful God given creations around me. By trade I am a teacher. It so happens that I get to teach art. Art was always one of my favorite subjects in school as I grew up. I grew up in a household were learning was a top priority. Many of my most cherished memories come from pulling out a dictionary or encyclopedia as a family to answer a question. My mother would often sit and read to me and my siblings. Both of my parents taught me to learn and grow was to read and gain as much information as possible. I love to smile. It makes me happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because... This is one I would like to simplify with a brief answer, but it takes so much more. I am a Mormon because time and time again Heavenly Father has shown me His Love. It is in my darkest hours that my Savior Jesus Christ encircles me with his loving arms. Being raised a Latter-day Saint, I had to find out for myself if what I was taught was true. It was not one time manifestation, but multple experiences of putting those things into practice and learning they were true. As I left home and had to experience life on my own, it was the teachings of the Savior Jesus Christ that helped me to survive and flourish. It was the fact that I know Jesus Christ is my savior, that God the Father sent Christ for me that I know who I am as His child. Personal revelation has played a significant part as I have come to know God the Father has living prophets on the Earth today. What joy springs up in my heart as I thank a loving Father and ever giving Savior for continual guidance in my life today.

How I live my faith

Currently I have the awesome responsibility to over see the youth program for young girls in my congregation called The Young Women. I am continually inspired by they willingness of these young girls to face the world daily and continue to live the standards God has set forth for them.
