Hi I'm Dallin

I'm a technology geek. I enjoy learning. I love the mountains. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music and technology. Originally I planned to go into music as a career. I wanted to be a music teacher. Back then, technology was more of a hobby. Life usually doesn't turn out the way you expect! I currently work in the technology field and enjoy producing written, audio, and video content about gadgets. Music is now a hobby! I married the most amazing woman in the world 10 years ago and we have an 8 year old son.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who were members of the church. The church has always been a part of my life, but there came a point in my life where I had to choose my own path and figure out for myself what the church was all about. Several years ago I had the opportunity to serve a full-time mission for the church in the great nation of Brazil. I had several very spiritual, very real experiences leading up to and during my mission through which I knew beyond a doubt that this church is the true church of Christ. It is through these experiences that I know that God is real, that He is our Father in Heaven, and that He loves us beyond all comprehension. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of all mankind - that through Him we can overcome death and sin and find true and lasting happiness in this life and the life to come. Through the church, I have learned who I am, where I came from, why I am here, and what happens after we die. And perhaps most importantly, I have learned that I can have a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father - that I can communicate with Him and receive guidance and inspiration from Him.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday with my family. It's really the highlight of my week, because I see it as a "break" from the day-to-day craziness of the week. If I have to miss Sunday meetings for work or other reasons, I really feel like something is missing. During the week I try to help and be a good example to those around me. I want them to feel the love of God through me. I'm currently serving in the church as a Ward Mission Leader. This requires a lot of time each week, but is such a blessing in my life as it allows me to get to know and interact with people and see how the Gospel of Jesus Christ blesses their lives. I also visit a few families in the ward once each month to share a spiritual message and make sure they are doing okay. In the church, this is called "hometeaching".

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Jesus Christ is the founder of our church. As documented in the Holy Bible, during Christ's mortal ministry he gave his authority to 12 men (Apostles) and organized a church to help people learn about His Gospel. The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ, documents the visit of Jesus Christ to the people of the Americas after His death and resurrection. During that visit, He also gave his authority to 12 Apostles and established His church among that people. Over time, the plain and simple truths of the Gospel became corrupted or were lost due to poor communication, persecution, and other factors. The true church of Jesus Christ was lost from the earth. This is what Mormons call the "Great Apostasy". Joseph Smith is the man God chose in our time to restore the church of Jesus Christ to the earth. He was given authority in the same manner it was given to the ancient Apostles and he set up the same organization that Jesus set up during His mortal ministry. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon, simply put, is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is a compilation of sacred records from the Americas that testify of the divinity, authority, and mission of Jesus Christ. It is not meant to replace the Holy Bible, it stands along side it as a witness of Jesus Christ. We believe both books are holy scripture and contain the word of God. Show more Show less
