Hi I'm Ryan.

I am a Martial Artist Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Colorado and now live in Utah. I am married with three great kids. I enjoy movies and TV, reading and Martial Arts. As a hobby, I started a small school teaching Tae Kwon Do. But for my real job I work for the Church as a teacher.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church, so I don't have a very good 'conversion story', but I have stayed committed to my faith because of the peace, safety and happiness it brings me. I know the Church was founded and is now led by modern Prophets. I also love the scriptures and know the Book of Mormon is true. But most of all, I know that only through Jesus Christ can any of us be saved, I need and rely on his Atonement.

How I live my faith

I am a Mormon from beginning to end, since I work for the Church I do religious things all day. I am a teacher of high school and college aged kids, we study the scriptures and lives of the prophets. In our home, my wife and I try to maintain an atmosphere where the Lord's Spirit can be present. We read scriptures together as a family, we have family prayer. We work and play together. I serve in the local leadership of the Church, I give 2-3 nights a week in service to my fellow members.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Mormon Temples are used as a place to get away from the world and worship Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. In the temples we receive instruction, and perform ordinances that teach us of Heavenly Father's plan. Ordinances such as Eternal Marriage are performed for ourselves and for our deceased ancestors. What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

I've always thought the best definition of "Grace" is the help we get from Heaven because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. As Mormons we believe in and rely on Grace to return to live with our Heavenly Father. We believe that even after all we do, it is still by the Grace of Christ that we are saved. We strive to choose the right, and when we make mistakes we repent through the Grace of Christ. Show more Show less
