Hi I'm Jeffrey

I am married. I served my mission in Detroit. I own my own business and love to serve others. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family and I enjoy serving and living in West Texas. I own my own financial services business and really enjoy what I do. The ability to help people in my profession is a small way I can help others achieve their goals. It is very rewarding to say the least. I come from a large family and one thing that my parents taught me and my siblings growing up was the value of hard work. This is one of the many values we strive to work on each day in our house. Hard work and dedication to what you do. I enjoy seeing how my wife interacts with our children on a daily basis. The gospel is the center of our lives!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I choose to be. I was raised in the Church but found that I had to gain a testimony of my own. I was taught to read the scriptures from a very young age and did so all through my youth and into adulthood. Through my study of the scriptures, especially The Book of Mormon, my relationship with my Savior has grown tremendously. I have a strong testimony of the gospel and know that this is the Lord's Church. Because of His atonement and His love for me I know that He is always there for me. I love having the Holy Ghost as a constant companion in my life and I strive each day to follow His guidance. I am a Mormon because it is what makes me happy...truly eternally happy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day first at home with my family. We strive to have family prayer and scripture study each day as well as family meals each night. I enjoy hometeaching, spending time with other members in their homes, sharing my testimony of the gospel with them. I have the privilege of teaching the Gospel Essentials class in my ward, or congregation, each week. This is a great way to share the basic beliefs of Mormons with those who are of other faiths. I enjoy learning the basics each time I study because even though I was raised in the Church, I still learn and it is fun to see others get excited about the new truths they learn.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Most certainly they can. This is a very core foundational belief. I know that I will be with my wife and family in the next life forever because of the atonement of Christ and the promises made in the temple. This is a principle of the gospel taught all throughout the Bible and continues to be taught today. I take comfort in knowing that me and my family will be together forever. Show more Show less

How does the Church finance its operations?

With tithing. The Lord taught in the Bible, "Bring ye all your tithes into the storehouse that there maybe meat in mine house..." Through faithful tithe paying members the Lord is able to finance its daily operations. It should be pointed out that that tithing money doesn't pay our clergy but it is a 100% lay ministry. There is not one paid clergy in our church. Tithing has been and continues to be a blessing in my life. In one small way it helps our family to put the Lord first and prioritize our finances. I take comfort in knowing that the Lord promises, "prove me now herewith if I will not open you the windows of Heaven and pour you out blessings that there will not be room enough to receive it..."
