Hi I'm Brad

I am a Mormon science teacher

About Me

I am a high school science teacher. I have been teaching for 15 years. I have been married for 25 years and have 5 children. I also teach at the community college in my area at night.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my parents investigated and joined the church when I was 2 years old. My father stopped going to church after about 6 months because he got his feelings hurt and he had problems keeping the Word of Wisdom. My mom served in primary until I was 8, but soon after I was baptized, she stopped going to church also. When I was 14, my father became ill with lung cancer. By the time they found out he had cancer, the tumor had metastasized and spread throughout his body. He died a year later. When my father died, some young people from the local church came to my house while I was mowing my lawn and asked me to go to a church activity. Even though I was reluctant, and originally said no, I called my home teachers, who had been faithfully coming to our home every month for years, and asked them when and where the activity was. I went and felt very comfortable. The young men and young women leaders answered many questions that I had about life after death. It made so much sense, and I felt such a warm comfortable feeling inside that I wanted to keep going to church.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith has changed and matured throughout my life. After I began to go back to church, I prepared and went on a mission for my church. It was there I began my life of service. Now I go to church weekly, and presently serve as the Sunday School president. I make sure that teachers and students are in the Sunday School classes. I also visit two families as a Home teacher. I have a companion and we visit at least once a month. We help them in any way we can, which includes giving priesthood blessings.
