Hi I'm Darwin

My early years were spent in Utah but I now live with my family in Arizona. I'm a husband, father, dentist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the father of seven and husband to the most beautiful, wonderful woman on the planet. We live in an urban setting where I work as a dentist and where my kids help me garden in our backyard. I enjoy hiking in a nearby mountain preserve and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was born into a Latter-day Saint family, my testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ has grown throughout my life. I have come to know that Our Heavenly Father really does know each of us personally and that He hears and answers heartfelt prayer. Through prayer, we can repent and feel the peace that only comes through obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have a testimony that the scriptures are our road map and that they are spiritual food. Both the Bible and The Book of Mormon testify of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that He is Love! I have a testimony of revelation through the Holy Spirit. I know that Jesus Christ has restored His Church in modern times through living prophets. I know that Joseph Smith was an instrument in God's hands to bring His Church to all of His children in these last days. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a living prophet for our time! To be Mormon is to be HAPPY!

How I live my faith

As a family we spend time together. We have a night every week set aside where we sing together & study the gospel together. We read scriptures together each day and pray together. We plan for the future together in council with one another. As a family we have sent out 5 of our 7 children on full time missions. They served faithfully for two years in Oregon, Hungary, Mexico, Italy and Canada. We expect our youngest two will also serve full time missions when they are of age. I currently serve in our ward as the High Priest Group Leader. I get to spend time on Sunday with great men who have spent many years giving service in Our Saviour's church. We spend time visiting members in our ward and helping those in need. We also search out our ancestors so that we can become savior's on Mt. Zion through the ordiances found in the Holy Temples.

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

I have no doubt that we live after we die. A few years ago I had a friend who was a young father pass away. When I knew that he was on life support I prayed fervently that he would live. During that prayer I felt a strong feeling of peace come over me that everything would be alright. Well, the next morning he passed on. I wondered at that peaceful, spirit filled feeling and while praying I felt it again. At his funeral I came to know that Heavenly Father had something very important for him to do on the other side of the veil. I knew that even though it might be difficult, his wife and four children would be O.K. without him. I know that he is preparing things for his family on the other side and also serving others. There, he awaits the rest of us as we complete our missions here on earth. Someday because of Jesus Christ we will all be resurrected to live with our families in love and peace, forever.
