Hi I'm Mack.

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am retired and living in East Texas. My main hobby is reading. I also enjoy family history. I prefer research in the field to research in front of the computer.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been interested in how various people relate to God, and I was very interested in the Latter-day Saints. I was stationed in Idaho Falls, Idaho in the US Navy. Idaho Falls is a big LDS town, so I had plenty of opportunity to meet Saints. I had read Moroni 10:3-5 many a time, and on the night of 26 May 1973, I decided to put him to the test. I prayed, asking if the Book of Mormon was truly God's word. Almost immediately after I finished my prayer, the doorbell rang and there were the missionaries! They came back the next morning and taught me all of their lessons. That afternoon I was interviewed for baptism, and the next day I was baptized and confirmed. Four weeks later to the day, I turned 20. Being a Latter-day Saint is a great source of comfort and peace of mind.

How I live my faith

I attend my meetings. I read from the Book of Mormon almost every day. I find it soothing. I enjoy helping out on service projects when I can. I strive to keep the commandments.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

So that anyone who wants to be as richly blessed as we are can have the opportunity. At Matthew 28:19 & 20, Jesus commanded His Apostles to preach the Gospel to everyone. That commandment has been reiterated by all of the prophets in these latter days. Show more Show less
