Hi I'm Cami

I live with my husband, James, and our kitty Bentley in a big city. I love to be outdoors and I love being Mormon.

About Me

I have now been married for a year and we are expecting a baby! It is an exciting time in life. I enjoy crafty things, riding my bike, taking a walk, and cooking. I am also a Seminary teacher- an early morning religion class for high school students. We are studying the New Testament and I have already learned so much and grown closer to Jesus Christ within the first few weeks. I love being a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I have been a member of The Church my whole life, it wasn't until I was about 15 that I gained my own testimony and started to see the blessings that come from following the Savior. At that age, I decided to start reading my scriptures daily and saying my personal prayers regularly. Something changed deep within me, my whole personality and countenance changed for the better. I had a strong desire to help others and become a better person. I have known the Gospel is true and good ever since this change came upon me. I continue to read my scriptures everyday, pray morning and night, attend church weekly, and strive to help others. I find more peace and direction in my life when I do these simple yet powerful things. I know God cares about me and He has a plan for my life. What is more peaceful than knowing I am being taken care of and watched over? Nothing I can think of.

How I live my faith

Not only do I go to church each Sunday, but I do things every day to remind me of my faith and the Savior. Reading scriptures, saying prayers, and focusing my thoughts on good things are ways that I can live my faith each hour. If I see someone that needs help or a need that I can fill I step up and serve. This has been one of the best ways that I have tried to follow the Savior's example of putting others first.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

The answer is simple: hopefully not. As Mormons, we are taught to follow the Savior's example in helping others. Christ helped people regardless of their political status, gender, religion, race, culture, or age. Christ reached out to others if they needed help. Christ helped those who needed help. Christ is our exemplar and Mormons should strive to serve and reach others as He did. Mormons are Christians and Christians should not discriminate or be prejudice toward anyone. We should all strive to help others no matter what differences may exist. Show more Show less
