Hi I'm Wendy

I was raised in Alaska. I've been married 41 years. We are parents of four & grandparents of 16, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm retired after 27 years of full time employment. My many hobbies include sewing, gardening, knitting, family history research, and reading. I worked in the fields of mental health and gerontology. I suffered a stroke a few years ago. I love my family and serving others.

Why I am a Mormon

My roots in the Church go back seven generations, but my reason for membership in the Church is deeply personal. Earlier in my life I had many questions and a sincere desire to know for myself if this was truly the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I spent long hours in study, meditation, and prayer before developing a testimony of the truthfulness of this gospel. That testimony is now an anchor in my life. I consider it the source of all the peace and happiness I have experienced.

How I live my faith

I enjoy personal scripture study and make time for pondering and meditation. My life has been filled with working in the church. I am a ward Relief Society president with responsibility to watch over the needs of women over 18 in our ward boundaries. I visit 4 women with a companion each month as a visiting teacher. We bring a spiritual message and develop friendships. Through visiting teaching I have developed treasured friendships.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Jesus Christ commanded his followers to go into all the earth and teach the gospel. Having the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life is such a wonderful feeling that I want to share it with everyone and anyone who will listen. Show more Show less
