Hi I'm Dale

I'm a father of 7 children. I'm an OB/GYN physician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 7 wonderful children, all of whom I am very proud of. I also have 17 grandchildren with more to come. I love the associations I have with all my family. I recently retired as a full-time obstetrical hospitalist at a major hospital. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, playing golf and I am just learning to fly fish.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have always been an active church goer. Like all members, whether born into the Church or baptized at a later stage in life, I had to go through a process of being truly "converted" and knowing for myself, independent of anyone else, that following the principles of Jesus Christ and of the the doctrine of His restored Church was the life long path I wanted to follow. My conversion really came about when I was 17 years old. I was so typical of many teenagers who just went with the flow. As I contemplated my future, my career and family, I knew I needed to know for myself if what my parents had taught me was true. During my senior year in high school I took the time to thoroughly read, ponder and pray about The Book of Mormon. It wasn't very long before I was devouring the book and felt an overwhelming peace and assurity that the Book of Mormon was true, that Joseph Smith was indeed a prophet of God and that God had restored, as He promised He would, the True Church of Jesus Christ, the same original Church that the Savior had established during His mortal ministry. Since that time, through a long life of experiences, that conviction has strengthened and matured. I am thankful to a loving Father in Heaven for this divine gift and the happiness it has brought me, my dear wife and my children and grandchildren.

How I live my faith

I have served in many capacities in the church including being a youth leader over teen age boys, as a Boy Scout leader and also as a Bishop over one of our local congregations. I also recently serves as Public Affairs Director for the church in our community. This has given me the enjoyable opportunity to meet and work with many of our government, religious and community leaders. Currently my wife and I are serving for 18 months as Area Medical Advisors for the church in the North America Northeast Area where we supervise the medical care of over 2500 full-time missionaries in Eastern Canada, the New England states, New York and New Jersey. We do this on a voluntary basis. I try and live an upright and honest life although I have fallen short on many occasions. I strive to pray and maintain a relationship with my Heavenly Father. Through the years I have gained great strength in reading the Bible, The Book of Mormon and other scripture.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Dale
Some outside our church have said that Mormons are not Christians. If one measures who a Christian is by a narrow set of criteria based on traditional mainstream Christianity, then Mormons may indeed fall outside that definition. However, the official name of our church is The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints. We follow Him. He is the head of our church. We believe that He is the only begotten Son of God in the flesh. He died for our sins and is our Savior. We believe through His atonement all will be resurrected and that everyone who has ever lived can return to a loving Father in Heaven.  Show more Show less
