Hi I'm Tyler B.

I am a enthusiastic talker. I grew up in Southern California. I am extremely overjoyed to be alive. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to be goofy and do crazy fun stuff. I dirt bike, ski, and fishing with my family. I am attending college and doing a science major. I am athletically declined, but I enjoy doing physical things.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church, but I did not really get my own testimony until I was a teenager. I learned, through the Holy Spirit, that Jesus Christ is the Savior and that He knows and loves me personally. I have discovered the miracle of forgiveness in my life and I know He loves us all enough to forgive us and make us clean and purified through His atonement. I have learned for myself that my Heavenly Father loves me and tries to teach and bless me. The day to day things, like reading the scriptures and praying, build my testimony to the point where I know that my Redeemer lives and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His church on earth.

How I live my faith

I keep myself on the straight and narrow path by always trying to forget about myself and serve others. One way I do this is making frequent trips to the temple. I can feel God's love for me in there and He guides me to be better. I always make sure that if I feel like I should not be praying to my Heavenly Father that I get down on my knees as soon as I can and open up my heart to Him because I know that He would never want me to not pray to Him. I love Him, but more importantly I know He loves me.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Tyler B.
They are used for making sacred covenants, or promises, with God and for bringing ordinances of salvation to those who did not have the opportunity in this life. Such ordinances are baptism for the dead, eternal marriages for the dead, and special covenants for the dead. Since they do not have a body, they need someone in this life to do those types of ordinances for them so they can enjoy the blessings Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ want for them. What is the priesthood?

Tyler B.
It is the power and authority to act in God's name to bless the lives of His children. Jesus Christ has restored His priesthood to bring ordinances of salvation, such as baptism, to all the faithful people of the world. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

Tyler B.
The doctrine of this church makes it clear that we should have faith in God our Heavenly Father and in His Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Tyler B.
Our bodies are a gift from God. He commands that we take care of them so we can receive the full blessings through them. For example, the Church was given counsel not to smoke before scientists and doctors found out that smoking was actually bad for people. Heavenly Father knows how we should take care of our bodies better than anyone on earth does, so we should try to exercise faith in Him and trust that He knows what He is doing when He asks us to keep our temples bodies clean. What are some things that tell to you there is a God?

Tyler B.
All the beautiful things on earth strengthen my testimony in God and His love for me. He created this beautiful world for all of us to live in and it is far too complex and magnificent to have been created by anything less than His never-ending power. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Tyler B.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints fully and completely regards the Holy Bible as scripture and the word of God, as long as it is translated correctly. We only believe that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and deals with the people who lived in the Americas. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

Tyler B.
The family is ordained of God and a central to His plan of happiness. He wants us to love our family and do our part to build a happy home. Families who are sealed in the temple cannot be separated by death, but have the opportunity to be together forever. Show more Show less

What is the Law of Chastity?

Tyler B.
It is God's commandment to the inhabitants of the earth to keep themselves clean and pure from all sexual relations before marriage and complete fidelity to one's spouse after marriage. It brings happiness and joy to all those who live it. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Tyler B.
Yes, Jesus Christ as my Savior and my Redeemer. I try to love Him with all my might and He literally guides this church today. Show more Show less

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Tyler B.
God had to restore His gospel to hear today because of the great apostasy in which Jesus Christ and all His apostles were killed and the power to act in God's name was taken from the earth. We have 12 apostles because Christ's church has come back to the world and He has called a prophet and apostles just as in days of the Bible. Show more Show less

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Tyler B.
This is God's church on earth today. In in the early 1800s God the Father and His son Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and he was called to be the first prophet in these latter days. Through Joseph Smith, the Savior restored His gospel and church to the earth again as He did in days of old. All the prophets that follow Joseph Smith have the same position to guide the Church as directed by Jesus Christ, who stands at the head of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Tyler B.
Homosexuality is a sin just like any other defiance against God's will. It is forgivable and can be fixed through the atonement of Jesus Christ. He has ordained marriage to be between a man and a woman. Therefore, same-sex marriage is against His will and not recognized in His eye. Anyone who has these thoughts or feelings can get over them by putting their total faith in Jesus Christ and exercising His will Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Tyler B.
We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. God has a body of flesh and bones and so does Jesus Christ, but the Holy Ghost does not have a body of flesh and bones. They are three separate beings, but are one in purpose. Show more Show less

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Tyler B.
Women do not have the priesthood because they have other important roles to play in God's plan. It is not something that can be used for an individual personally, but only something that can be used to help others. Worthy men hold the priesthood to act in God's name to bless His children. God made women so special and amazing that they do not need the priesthood to help people or be a leader in the Church. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints would be nothing without the faithful women who offer their special gifts and talents to the world.  Show more Show less
