Hi I'm Nathan

I grew up in the small town of Logandale, Nevada. I love music and my family. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in a small town in southern Nevada. I had a fun childhood full of exploring the desert terrain, building forts, playings lots of games with my brothers, sisters, and parents, playing video games, skateboarding, writing and performing music, and a whole lot more. I'm currently serving a two year mission in St. Louis, Missouri for the Lord and loving every moment of it! When I get home I plan to go to college and continue my studies in music and arts.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found everlasting happiness in living this restored gospel. Throughout my life I have experienced many hardships, trials, and tragedies and nothing has helped me more to get through them than the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I have experienced many joys and miracles too and they all point back to God and His Son, Jesus Christ. I haven't always been as strong in living the gospel as I am right now. I struggled for some time in gaining an understanding of it's truthfulness and purity. As I had faith though and trusted in God to lead me in the right direction, and after doing all I could to study the Book of Mormon and other doctrines of this church, I received my answer. Now I know that this is Jesus Christ's only true church on this earth. The only church that has the fulness of His gospel. I know that God lives and that through His Son he called Joseph Smith to be another prophet to restore the fulness of the gospel for all the world.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a missionary in St. Louis, Missouri for two years. There are well over fifty thousand missionaries throughout all the world for this church and we have been sent out to share the wonderful message that Jesus Christ has called another prophet and has restored His gospel to the earth again. I do not serve to become any kind of leader in the church, but to be God's servant in gathering his children to the truth. When I am done I will continue to live the gospel by keeping the commandments and honoring the covenants and promises I have made with Heavenly Father.

How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is actually very similar to the Bible and teaches all the same principles. The difference is that throughout time and multiple translations the Bible has lost many plain and preacious teachings. Teachings that the Book of Mormon contains. Joseph Smith did not seek to be called but was called by Jesus Christ to be the prophet to restore His gospel to the earth. In order to do this Christ preserved an ancient record, the Book of Mormon, through a prophet named 'Mormon' in the Ancient Americas. This record remained burried in New York until Joseph Smith was led there by Christ that he might uncover it and restore Christ's teachings that had been lost for centuries. Show more Show less

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

You must have authority to do anything in this world and in heaven as well. For things to be valid here or in heaven it must be done under the proper authority. If I was to be pulled over while driving my car by an ice cream truck and was given a ticket, I would not be inclined to pay that ticket because the ice cream man didn't have the authority to give it to me. Just the same, God isn't inclined to recognize any ordinance, such as baptism, unless done under proper authority. The wonderful news is that through Joseph Smith that authority has been restored to the earth again! And the ordinances performed under that authority are available to anyone who seeks to follow Christ and keep His commandments. Show more Show less
