Hi I'm Annette

I enjoy gardening and backyard birding. I'm at stay-at-home mom. I am an Idaho native.

About Me

I love the beauty of God's creations. Idaho is a wonderful place to find many scenic attractions, but I have found that there is beauty to be found where ever you are. I love to create my own place of beauty by creating a garden refuge full of beautiful flowers. I also enjoy feeding and watching birds, and learning to paint landscapes. After many years as a single woman I met and married the love of my life when we were both in our early 40's. We are blessed to have a bright, amazing son who keeps us young and lights up our lives. Family is very important to me. I come from a large family and am fortunate to have a close relationship with my siblings, nieces, and nephews. I love reading, and losing myself in a good book. I love the Book of Mormon because it testifies of Christ. I love music and enjoy singing. I also enjoy writing poetry. There are so many beautiful things in this world. I feel fortunate to be surrounded by many opportunities to experience them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I feel in my heart that it is Jesus Christ's church, founded and led by Him. I was raised in the church, and I am thankful that I had my parents' examples and guidance to help me understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As everyone must, I needed to gain my own witness that the LDS church was God's true church, and I did that by studying the scriptures, both the Bible and the Book of Mormon, and by praying to know if it was true. The Holy Spirit has born witness to my heart many times that this is Christ's church on the earth, and that I am doing what God wants me to do when I live as the church teaches. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, as is the Bible. I know that God restored the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth through His prophet, Joseph Smith, and that He continues to reveal His will through living prophets today, just as He did in times of old. I am grateful for the opportunity to communicate with my Heavenly Father through prayer, and I know that He hears my prayers and answers them according to His infinite wisdom with those things which are best for me. I am so grateful to know that I am a literal daughter of God. Knowing that gives me the courage to strive to be the best person I can be, and gives me new insight into the people I come into contact with each day. We are all His sons and daughters, and as such, we are all princes and princesses, children of a King, and worthy of love and respect. The Spirit bears witness to me that we have amazing potential If we will just choose those things that will uplift and edify us and those around us and make the decision to follow Christ in all that we do!

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith each day in the decisions that I make and the way I treat others around me. I attend church every Sunday and strive to keep the Sabbath Day holy by focusing my thoughts and energies on serving the Lord, my family, and others around me. I teach a class of seven and eight-year-old children on Sundays, and also help in the women's organization. We had a program where the women are assigned to visit each other every month to deliver a gospel message, and more importantly, to be a friend and to offer help and support as it is needed. I assist the president of the organization to keep track of visiting assignments and relay information about the needs of the women who are visited. I try to live my faith in my daily life by being a good neighbor and a good citizen. I try to teach my child to be a good friend, to find joy in giving service, and to show respect and caring to others.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

We believe that all men are imperfect, and therefore cannot return to God's presence except through the grace of Jesus Christ. It is our responsibility to do everything we can to make right choices, to live a good life, and to love our fellow men, but we know that even the best of us will make mistakes and sin. Because of Jesus Christ's atonement, we can repent of things we have done wrong and be forgiven. Without Jesus and His grace we would be lost "for we know that it is by grace we are saved after all we can do." (2 Nephi 25:23) Because we are unable to live perfect lives, free from sin and error, we need Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice to make up the difference for us. Without Jesus Christ, there is no way that we could dwell in God's presence again. Show more Show less
