Hi I'm Larry Richman

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work with social media and online product marketing. I've also been a professional project manager for nearly 30 years. But, at heart, I consider myself a writer. I've authored over a dozen books and have written a blog post nearly every day since 2006. See LDSMediaTalk.com and RichmanRamblings.blogspot.com. I also run a website with ideas about how to save money on nearly everything you buy. See TalkAboutSavingMoney.com.

Why I am a Mormon

I follow Christ because I love Him and know that following his commandments will bring me more joy in life than by following any other course.

How I live my faith

I have served as the bishop of our local congregation, which took a lot of time, but also brought me a lot of joy. My responsibilities in the Church give me the chance to associate with and help other people.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Larry Richman
The gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us to be accountable for ourselves and our families. That means we do all we can to earn a good living, spend within our means, and be responsible for what the Lord has given us. Our first priority is to take care of ourselves, then turn to our extended family for help, then others within the Church. The members in our congregation donate money every month to help others. One of my responsibilities as bishop is to meet with people who are in need, and provide this money to them to help with critical needs. It's a great feeling to know that our community takes care of itself, without needing to turn to government handouts. Show more Show less
