Hi I'm Steve

I was raised by caring parents. They taught us how to live, laugh and love the Lord. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, father and grandfather. My wife and I have 5 children and 18 grandchildren which we take such great joy and pleasure in. Joy and happiness is the essence of life. This can be best achieved by having a happy family. In every stage of our life, our family has been the center of attention. We are active members of the Mormon church. The church provides a foundation to our family. It's something we can count on and that never changes. How could it? Heavenly Father never changes. His purpose is always the same to help us get back to him. I am a retired businessman and entrepreneur. I am always motivated by achievement. I've been involved in real estate development. I started a franchise business in the transportation industry. I loved being outdoors in a four wheel drive vehicle. Our two youngest were boys. We would go "off road four wheeling" into the mountains or the red rock country of Moab, Utah. I suppose the attraction for me was the beauty of God's creations. The majesty and wonder of these uninhabited parts of the world is truly inspiring. I enjoy cars and mechanics. My father was a mechanic so I grew up with fixing, rebuilding and improving. I love books. I'm not an educated person. However, the university theses days is a collection of books. I have a library at home with several hundred books

Why I am a Mormon

Because its the right thing to do. When I am active and committed to God, I can lay down at night and be at peace with myself, the world and the Lord. In all my travels, experiences and studies, there isn't anything else that can bring a spirit and light to my life better than the Mormon church. There isn't anything else that can help my family be close together with the knowledge of eternal relationships...nothing.

How I live my faith

My relationship with God is that I know He is there. He knows who I am and cares about me. I know He has a plan for me. He is pleased with me when I rely upon Him. So, I read scriptures and pray everyday. I attend worship services. I volunteer to serve others when asked by church leaders. Occasionally, I have been called by the prophet of God through His apostles to serve a full time mission. I consider serving Him a honor have committed everything to Him. This isn't a cult, it's a covenant. I love Him because everything I have, He has given me.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

We believe the Jesus Christ who lived in Jerusalem, was the Son of God. Some say we do not believe in Jesus Christ, but that is not true. The very most important thing in this Church is that Jesus suffered and died for our sins. He arose the third day after his death and promised that everyone will be resurrected. This makes Him our Savior and Redeemer. Show more Show less

Why did your church previously practice plural marriage (polygamy)?

It is part of our history however, if you believe in this practice today, you cannot be a Mormon. Show more Show less

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Mormonism is about relying upon oneself and living within your income. Debt is discouraged. Mormons believe in being prepared for an emergency, which is only common sense. Show more Show less
