Hi I'm Tera

I am a Public Safety Dispatcher (911 operator), a wife, a mother and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls ranging from 20 to 11. I have been married to an amazing man for 22 years. I was blessed enough to be a stay at home mom for over 11 great years. I truly love my job and I love being a mother. I enjoy playing softball, volleyball, soccer and any other game I can get into! I love watching my kids in all their activities! I also enjoy camping, playing games, and ride quads with my family! I like the rain and the beach. But most of all I love my God, my family and my country!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. I grew up around members of the church and knew of the church. Most of my mom's family is Mormon, but I was not. One day I was invited to church by my cousin and it just felt right. As I began taking the missionary lessons, I knew in my heart it was true. I also prayed that I might know if this was the true church and the church that I was to join. I knew without a doubt that it was right. I was baptized shortly there after and the rest is history. I met my husband not to long after I was baptized and we were married in the San Diego temple. We have been married now for 21 years. I am grateful to be married to him for time and all eternity. What a wonderful blessing and promise. I believe the church is true and I love it with all my heart. I feel so blessed to have it in my life. It has helped me through many of life's trials. I don't know where I would be without it. I am also thankful we have a prophet to lead and guide us in these latter days. I am truly grateful for our Savior and the sacrifice he made for all of us. Listen to your heart, the Spirit will touch you!

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith daily. I strive to be a good example to those I am around and to those that I meet. I strive to be honest and forthright in all my dealings and with other people. At work, at home, at church, wherever I am and whatever I am doing. I volunteer in my community as victim witness advocate. We help those who have experienced a crisis or was involved in one. We are called out by law enforcement. It could be a call from a robbery to a homicide. They can call us for any number of reasons. I also volunteer at the school. I try to help out once or twice a week. It is usually in the classroom, but from time to time it is for a special event. I enjoy giving. Every evening we try and have family prayer and scripture study. This helps to unite our family and keep us strong. I look forward to Sunday's with my family. Due to my job there are many Sunday's that I have to work. We make do. On Sunday's we try and not watch TV and just spend quality family time together. We will play games or go outside and play. Being a member of this church is not just about going to church on Sundays and feeling good, but about serving and loving others and following the example of Christ I'm not perfect in any of these things, but when I truly put forth my best effort to live a Christ-like life, I feel the blessings of Heaven at work in my life.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Tera
In our family we love, serve, teach, and learn from each other. We share our joys and our sorrows. Family ties may bring us difficult challenges, but they also give us strength and some of our greatest happiness. The family is ordained of God. Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities. The family is the basis of God’s plan for His children. It is also the central unit of society and the means for bringing children into the world where they can be loved, provided for, and taught truth and righteousness. We can choose each day to make our families stronger and happier. It is possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be united eternally. Show more Show less
