Hi I'm Jessica

I'm a computer geek, basketball player, and bicycle rider. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband, 1 year old daughter and I are living in Utah. I work from home for a local company. My husband and I both got our degrees in Japanese and Business management. We both spent time in Japan teaching people about Christ. Hopefully we will return to visit soon. I love to play racquetball! And basketball. I really like water skiing and bike riding - things I grew up doing with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

Because my parents taught me to be Mormon and to be obedient and to trust in God, to be honest to myself and others, to repent and forgive, to love others as Christ does - and I saw that it was good.

How I live my faith

I pray every morning and night and anytime in between. I pray for the ability to do things or help people and then I stand up, go out, and act on those prayers. I teach missionaries English so they can share the message of our Savior Jesus Christ and baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost. Right now I am a leader in the women's group of the Mormon church in my area and I visit other women and teach them so they can have stronger faith in Christ.

What do Mormons believe happens after we die?

Jessica
Death is most certainly not the end. Our spirits are immortal, although our body will someday die. After we die, we return back to the God that gave us life - our Heavenly Father. Because of Jesus Christ, every person, whether good or evil, will be resurrected. Resurrection means that we will receive a perfect body that can not die. Though it will be the same body as we have now, it will be really awesome. Those with physical handicaps will be receive a body without any. We are then judged by Jesus Christ. Just as there are different levels of goodness in the world, our Heavenly Father has prepared different levels of reward for us to receive as we are judged. We don't believe in heaven or hell, but that there are different levels of joy, peace, happiness and reward that we receive depending on our actions and desires in this life. If we keep the commandments, serve those around us, and enter into the temple - we can live with God and Jesus Christ in our families forever. Heavenly Father is all about love! He really does love me and you and all the people on earth. That is why He gives us the opportunity to be here on this earth and then to be accountable when we die for what we have done here. It makes me feel like I must do better especially in loving and serving those around me. Show more Show less

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Jessica
I was married in a Mormon temple - there those who desire can be married, but the marriage is done by someone holding the power of God to marry people for not only time, but all eternity. We can be together with our spouse even after we die. Inside Mormon temples we also perform ordinances that are necessary for salvation for those who have already died. It is much like missionary work for those who have passed on and didn't have a chance to hear or accept the teachings of Christ in this life. Show more Show less
