Hi I'm Ryan

I grew up in California and am happy to say that I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah however I grew up in California. I enjoy playing and watching sports, including basketball, tennis, and football. Two years ago I graduated from college. I am married to a wonderful woman who I love very much. I enjoy watching movies that have positive messages and I love reading as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because God has revealed to me through His holy spirit that his true Gospel has been restored to the earth in its fullness. I was born into a Mormon family, however my decision to continue in my faith is my own. My conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints cannot be attributed to any one event or experience, but rather from my continual quest to follow the principles that are taught in the Church. The Lord will validate to you that something is true or not by simply doing His Will. After all, he taught, "Not everyone that saith unto me Lord Lord will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he that doeth will of my Father which is in heaven". For this reason and from the confirmation of the Lord's spirit I know Jesus Christ lives. That he is our redeemer and he is my Savior, your savior, and the Savior every person who has and ever will come to the earth. I know that we have a father in Heaven who loves all of us individually and who hears and answers our prayers. He is the Father of our Savior Jesus Christ and works together with Him to help us to return to live with him some day. I know that the church was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith, that church is the same church that Jesus Christ himself organized when he was on the earth. I know that we have a prophet on the earth today, just as in times before. The Lord has had a pattern of calling prophets to lead His people on the earth and he certainly has not discontinued that pattern for our day because he loves us and wants us to have personal direction from him. I know that the power and authority of God is on the earth today. The same power by which the world was created exists in the Church today through His Holy Priesthood. Miracles have not ceased and they continue to happen in our times. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and is further evidence that God loves all of his Children. Coupled with the Bible it solidifies the validity of Christ's ministry on the earth and his eternal plan of Salvation for all of us. We can all live with our families with God forever, if we choose to follow Him.

How I live my faith

I serve as the Ward Mission Leader in my ward congregation. The ward mission leader has the responsibility of working with Bishop the leader of the ward to find those people who live in our ward boundaries who are interested in learning about our faith. It is an incredible blessing to be able to witness the Gospel change people's lives. I had the great opportunity to serve a two year full time mission to the people of Alberta, Canada, and teach them the Gospel. I count this as the two most influential years of my life and consider it a great privilege to have helped people grow closer to Christ.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Ryan
The Atonement of Jesus Christ was Christ's individual sufferings, pains, sicknesses, unhappiness, and sadness, for each of us. When he suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane he went through every physical, mental, and spiritual sufferings that we have ever felt. His atonement also includes his resurrection. Christ's atonement is necessary because it provides a way for us to overcome physical death, and it provides a way for us to repent and be cleansed of our sins. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Ryan
No we do not worship Joseph Smith, however we revere him for His Faithfulness in times of great persecution as the Church was being the restored to the earth. This is a man who deserves great respect, however he himself would tell you that we worship God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
