Hi I'm Kevin

I live in Louisiana, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have had the chance to live in a number of different regions of the country and I currently live with my family in Louisiana. I love seeing new places and cultures and I am always looking forward to my next adventure. I work as a Health, Environment and Safety Specialist in the oil and gas industry. In my job I am responsible for ensuring employees are protected from hazards in the workplace that could negatively affect their health and safety. When not working, I love the outdoors! I think nature is beautiful, and I enjoy seeing all of God's creations. From the mountains, to the plains, to the swamps, it is all amazing! I am blessed to be a husband and father. My kids can be a handful but I have an amazing wife and every second of parenthood is worth it!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon is from God. I have read this book and prayed about it numerous times, and every time I read it I find answers to my prayers and I feel closer to the Savior. I know that the Book of Mormon is true.

How I live my faith

Each week I teach free English classes to members of my community that are learning English as their second language. Some of my students are Mormon, but most are not. I have had students from North America, South America, Asia, Africa, and Europe.

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes, Mormons are Christians. We accept Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer and know that without Him we cannot be saved. I am grateful for Jesus Christ and for His atoning sacrifice. Show more Show less

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Each Sunday members generally wear nice church attire to our meetings. Men may wear a button-up shirt and tie, while women may have a dress or a skirt on. We do this to show a reverence for the meetings and for the Savior, however if an individual comes dressed more casually they will still be welcome to worship with the congregation. We celebrate all of the traditional Christian holidays, such as Easter and Christmas, and we feel this is a special time to grow closer to family and friends as we come together to remember the Savior.
