Hi I'm Laura.

I'm a stay-at-home Mother. I like to take pictures and blog. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife to a wonderful husband and a stay-at-home Mother to a beautiful baby girl. I have a degree in Early Childhood/Special Education and have worked in various child care centers. I love to spend time with my family outdoors and enjoying the fun things that my community has to offer. I also enjoy reading, writing, taking pictures and organizing.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon my entire life. My parents taught me the gospel from a very young age. They gave me the foundation that I needed to build my own testimony of this gospel. I don't think I have ever doubted that this is the true church of God...but I have still prayed and searched to find out for myself. I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it is true. I feel a peace and strength in my heart as I read it. As I read it daily I am strengthened and I find answers to my prayers. I know that this is God's true Church. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that he suffered for not only my sins, but for our afflictions and infirmities as well. Through personal experience I know that when we want to give up or feel at our lowest, Jesus Christ can bring comfort and peace to our life. He want us to reach out to Him. He sends us THIS gospel to help us reach our full potential and return to Him.

How I live my faith

Mostly, my faith is a part of my everyday life. I depend upon my faith in God and Jesus Christ to show my hope and joy through trials and hardships of this life. Each day I read my scriptures and pray that I will be guided to do the right things. I go to church and teach my family the teachings of the gospel. I have many Mormon friends and also friends of other faiths. I try to be an example of Christ in the things that I say and do each day. I have participated in many areas of the church. I have served the children as a teacher and been leader of the 8-11 year old girls program. I have been a leader in the program for the women of the church. I have had the opportunity to serve as a missionary in my ward and share the gospel with those who are searching for purpose in their own life. I am currently a leader in the program for the young women 12-18 year old girls. I LOVE it! The purpose of the program is to help them progress personally and be prepared to live righteously in the future. I am also a visiting teacher...meaning I visit with several women in my church group and we discuss the gospel and find ways to help meet any needs that the women might have in their life.

What do Mormons believe happens after we die?

After we die our spirit separates from our body and goes to live in the spirit world. We are able to live in happiness, free from troubles and hardships of this world. The gospel is preached there to those who have not heard it while on this earth. We stay in the spirit world until the Second Coming, when we are resurrected and then receive our eternal judgement.
