Hi I'm Kimberly

I'm a wife and mother. I'm active in my community. I traded in the corporate life for a family life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mom of three. I love to scrapbook and take pictures. I wish I had more time to relax. I'm a beach girl and love the ocean. I stay busy with my family, kid's school, church activities and other volunteer work. I love to craft and am trying to start a small business. I keep our family history with a blog that the grandparents love to read.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I know in my heart that the gospel is true. I converted when I was 13 with my mom and sister, and then we stopped going to church a few yeas later when we moved to a new city. During college, I found the LDSSA which is the Latter-Day Saint Student Association group on campus and started to go back to church. One night, after a particularly hard few months, I was walking home and stopped in an empty area, knelt down and said a prayer. The answer and peace that came to my heart was overwhelming and I knew I could not deny the truth any more. Sometimes the answers aren't so obvious. But whether I feel a certain peacefulness, or a knot in my stomach, or that intense burning in my soul, each time it only confirms to me the truthfulness of the gospel and the fact that Jesus lives.

How I live my faith

I worked with the children ages 3-11in our ward for several years in Primary, which is like the Sunday school for children. It was truly a blessing to get to watch the children develop and see how intensely they feel the spirit. I was recently given a new assignment, coordinating the women in the congregation to visit each other on a monthly basis. This allows the women to get to know each other, form friendships and take care of each others needs, whether spiritual or temporal. We are all a work in progress and I try my best to keep a prayer in my heart at all times and to study the scriptures daily. They can give you so much strength, in good times and bad. I show compassion to those around me and serve others whenever I can. I try to talk to friends and neighbors about the gospel and answer questions they have about it.

What is being a Mormon like?

It's like being part of a big family. No matter where you go, you can find other Mormons and they are friendly and welcoming. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Absolutely not. We truly believe every person is a son or daughter of God and we try to help those around us as much as we can. Besides all the work the Church does worldwide, we all try to help improve our own communities. In my community, all the moms I know are active at our children's schools, making them better for all the children. Myself and each of my friends has other interests and service groups that we are involved in that work with the community. The service we give does not stop at any geographical, religious or socio-economic boundary. Show more Show less
